Jennifer Lopez was born on July 24,1970 out of the Bronx New York. She is from Puerto Rican descent. Her father's name is David-a computer specialist, and her mother Guadalupe-a kindergarten teacher. At a young age she began to pursue a career as a musical theater actress. She began taking classes which eventually led to tours of Europe and Japan. At 16, Jennifer got a small part in the film My Little Girl. It wasn't until a few years that Jennifer got her first break.
In 1990, Jennifer won a dance audition that gained her a spot on the Keenan Ivory Wyans' television show, In Living Color. She later auditioned for a spot on Janet Jackson's video, That's the Way Love Goes and got it.
It wasn't until 1997 that her talent catapulted into superstardom. She stared as the main character in Selena and also gained roles in movies such as Jack, Blood and Wine, and Money Train.
