Army Of One artist “Dub G, Arabface & QB” go head to head with ALIEN Records interviewer “Butterfly”
General
- How did you come up with the idea of being a Kuwaiti R&B Singer or Rapper?
Arabface: I didn't come up with the idea, cause the rest were in with me, I was really into music, I used to sing, go to parties, but it was just fun before, but then I got into it more and became a Kuwaiti artist, officially.
- Since your Kuwaiti, why didn't you use your real name to show people that you're an Arabic singer instead of using a nickname?
Arabface: Well, my nickname says that I'm an Arab, and it's a shortage of my real name “Faisal”, cause my friends call me “face”, so I think that's good enough.
Dub G: A lot of singers use nicknames or what people like to call them, whether they're Arabs, English French, it's not necessarily to give your real name.
- As “Army of One” what do you think will make you different from other groups or artists? Or how would you and your crew stand out?
[Dub G: We got many things that differs us from other groups, first of all, we're Kuwaitis, we're Arabs, we're from the Middle East and we're Muslims, and we are the first to drop an English Album, so I think that by it' self, makes us different from other people. Also, mixing the Arabic beats is really new, and makes us distinguished from others.
- What's your favorite song in the album and why?
Dub G: Well, I got many, but I like [Arabian Thugs, Ready for War & If I Pull the trigger] cause they're like my style, and they're about things I like to talk or rap about.
QB: Reprezentin', cause we represented ourselves.
- Do you agree on singing a song that reflects something in your life, or is it ok to sing or perform any song?
Arabface: No, I have to feel the song in order to perform it.
- Any embarrassing moments while recording or shooting video clips?
Dub G: Well, we had a lot of these, I don't wanna get into it, but for example in photo shoots and video clips, mostly we take pictures and stuff, suddenly I turn red! I don't know why, maybe it's the sun, maybe it's the heat, or it's just me, but that is very embarrassing.
- What do you do in life besides being a member in this group?
Arabface: Well, I attend college in Canada , and it's my last year.
- Does your family support the idea that you're a singer?
Arabface: Yes, they fully supported me.
- What was their reaction when they first knew about it?
QB: They loved the idea of me being a singer, and they are pushing me towards.
- Do you still see your family and relatives just like you use to? Or you divide work from family relations? Meaning, are family and relatives an important part in your life?
Dub G: Of course they are an important part of my life, and unfortunately I don't see them now like I used to because I'm too busy with recording sessions.
QB: Yeah, I'm really busy now, and I talked to them about it, but they understand, they know that I'm busy with my recordings, and of course if I had the chance to go and see them, of course I will, and yes they are very very important in my life.
- Who encouraged you to sing?
Arabface: mmm, no one encouraged me, as I told you, you just feel it, so I started singing out of no where.
- Are you satisfied with the video clip? Do you think that you did the best you can in it?
Dub G: Well let me put it this way, whether it's our video clip or other's video clip, you can always do better, but I'm satisfied with our video clip, I think it's great, but still, we can always do better, nothing is made to perfection.
- What's the secret behind your astonishing look?
Arabface: I don't know, each one has his own personality, right? So.., I can't decide, people can decide, I can't tell you … [ with a grin ].
Dub G: Probably my bold head [ grin ].

- What is it like being with your crew members almost all the time and did that make any difference in your life?
Arabface: It's beautiful! It's one of the best things that happened to me in my life, to meet these people and make music with them, because all of us have the same level of thinking, we love music the same, and we all have the same goals I think.
- Being a member in a crew, is that considered to be hard work or working single would be better?
Dub G: It's harder and easier at the same time, it's harder cause when you do a single album, you can reflect yourself to people, and say what you want more than when you do it with a group. But it's easier with the group cause you learn from other people and we help each other out.
- Did your label ALIEN Records have a big influence on your music career?
Arabface: Of course they did, my producer “NG” helped me, the guys helped me too, I don't know.. It's perfect for me to join Alien Records, cause I learned a lot from them.
Dub G: Probably the biggest influence, cause I and none of us would be here without the Alien Records, and I'm talking in the name of other people in the group, the chances before the Alien Record were rare and it was hard, so Alien Record was the major part in it.
- If one of you was not a singer where would you see yourselves?
Arab face: [ laughing ] well Dub G is my cousin, so I'll probably see him in Eid or something or New Years gatherings.
Dub G: I'd see QB doing Comedy shows !!
